As part of our natural dye collection, the Jupiter men's shirt is simply stellar.

Created in the Rajasthan region of India, every step of this ancient process from the extraction of the dye to its application with a wooden block magically takes color from nature and applies it to quality cotton fabric.

For our Jupiter print, the roots of the Curcuma longa (Tumeric), are cleaned, chopped, and placed in a bath that will extract the color. It can take weeks, even months, to get the desired shade. The final color is then processed into a golden curcumin dye and applied to the cloth with a  uniquely cut wooden block. White concentric circles with no color or definition remain. The final application, a black dye - which has gone through its own extraction process - is also applied by block print and the circles become cosmic planets. Be sure to notice the fine white detail within the planets.

The artisans who create our fabrics take pride in the exactness of their work. And while block printing is known for its iconic look that makes each item one of a kind, the small details must be maintained.
